M-Tac® Scythia - Hero State Patch - Full Color

The Scythia - Land of Heroes patch by M-Tac is a tribute to the might of the Scythians, legendary rulers of the Ukrainian steppes. Ancient manuscripts dating back to the period from the 7th to the 3rd century BCE document the presence of the Scythians in the territory of modern-day Ukraine, between the Danube and the Dnieper, as well as in Crimea. The Scythians are considered the core of the Slavic people and the ancestors of the Cossacks. There are many traces that attest to their significance on the Ukrainian steppes, and one of them is incorporated into the new M-Tac patch. On the patch, you can see the glorious Scythian sword known as the akinak. A characteristic feature of Scythian swords was rectangular pommels and crossguards with a straight upper and rounded lower edge. A distinctive element is also the loop on the upper edge of the hilt. The akinak sword, thrust into a mound, was regarded as the sacred center of the universe, the World Tree, connecting the realms of gods, humans, and the underworld into one.
